About Us

This Big Bible website examines our past, explains our present, and imagines our future based on the truths of the Bible. It’s a story about how the LORD God created us in His image to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever. The Big Bible website takes the perspective of Old Earth Creationism (OEC) which harmonizes well with our current scientific understanding of the Bible when understood with some key insights.

The Big Bible Project takes inspiration from the Big History project, but with a desire to include what we believe to be the most important aspect of the history of the universe, namely the place of the Creator and Sustainer of the universe as explained in the Bible. Our goal is to develop an excellent academic curricula that explains clearly how scientific findings are in harmony with descriptions found in the Bible. We begin explaining this harmony by focusing on Genesis chapter 1. There should be no need to generate the entire curricula from scratch, as there are already many excellent curricula that cover creation in a scientific manner. We plan to supplement those curricula in appropriate ways and make them more approachable for understanding the harmony between the Bible and science.

By explaining these concepts in ways that are easy to understand, we can help to dispel the common misconception that the Bible is scientifically inaccurate and full of myths and legends. In fact, the opposite is true, and the many pages on this website go into detail about this harmony. Once this harmony is understood and appreciated, then more people can understand the profound nature of this harmony between the first chapter of Genesis and science as we know it today. The fact that this harmony exists is one of the most profound pieces of evidence for the divine inspiration of the Bible. How else could it be that a  description of creation that was written well over 3000 years ago could match the scientific evidence so strongly? Surely, this shows a divine authorship for the Bible.
